Home energy retrofit incentives in Ontario
A home energy retrofit in Ontario rarely has to be paid for entirely out of pocket. Federal, provincial, and utility-run programs regularly offer rebates and low-interest financing for the exact work a deep-energy retrofit involves: insulation, air-sealing, window replacement, and heat pump installation.
Most programs share a common structure — an EnerGuide home evaluation before the work, the upgrades themselves, then a follow-up evaluation that documents the improvement and unlocks the rebate. That before-and-after testing is something we do on every project anyway, so qualifying rarely adds steps for our clients.
The honest caveat: programs change. Eligibility rules, funding windows, and rebate amounts shift year to year, and a figure quoted online today can be stale by the time your project starts. We track what's currently open and walk you through the rebates that apply to your home as part of the assessment phase — before you commit to a scope.
